On September 2-3, representatives of tourism companies, higher primary institutions of the region, profile associations and institutions of Zaporizhzhia, Berdyansk, Melitopol took part in webinars from Lithuanian experts. It was about the feasibility and benefits of creating clusters in the field of tourism.
The webinars were organized jointly with the Vilnius Chamber of Commerce and Industry as part of the project “Sustainable export growth in Ukraine due to the benefits of clustering.”
Information on the benefits of clusters, their own practical experience was shared by:
Gedrius Bagushinkas, head of the Lithuanian cluster of agricultural enterprises
Arturas Jakubavicius, Expert Consultant on Innovation Management, Project Manager of the Lithuanian Innovation Center, Professor of Social Sciences, Vilnius Technical University
According to experts, clusters are a good opportunity, especially for small travel companies. In particular, Lithuania has good examples of uniting companies from different regions of the country in the field of medical tourism – these are sanatoriums that provide different types of services, and together – create a wide range of offers for their customers.
An important issue is the training of professionals for the tourism industry. Zaporizhzhya educational institutions, which took an active part in the webinar, are ready to unite with business and develop the tourism industry of the region together.
In particular, Professor of the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Affairs of Zaporizhia National University Larysa Bezkorovaina noted:
“The topic is extremely important for the development of the tourism industry. Thank you for organizing the meeting, an interesting report and very valuable information. I hope for further meetings and cooperation! ”
